RBC Blue Water Project donation helps sharing of NWT-water forum findings across Canada

September 19, 2011 - In 2010, the RBC Blue Water Project provided $300,000 to the Forum for the Leadership on Water (FLOW), so it could scope out a First Nations Water Commission for the Northwest Territories. Part of RBC's funding was used to host a Forum event, held in Yellowknife in January 2011, to help territorial water managers access world-class knowledge so they could implement a new water strategy. This Forum was attended by every level of the territorial government, including the Minister of Environment/ Finance, Directors and policy analysts, as well as the Premier and former Premier.

RBC's funding will be used to share the results of the Yellowknife Forum nationally in "Northern Voices, Southern Choices", a 14-city tour across Canada, where innovative ideas from the NWT will be shared with regional stakeholders, including water experts, government, academics, residents and others.
