Meet Pierre
Pierre: When you’re madly in love with what you’re doing, it
begs the question, why retire?
Pierre Paquin, 67 years old
> Lawyer, Musician, Author
Marlene: Pierre is a very happy person. He likes music, he likes poetry, he likes reading, he likes everything. We were made for each other I really think so.
Pierre: My passion in life is living.
The time has come to start considering retirement
Pierre: Let's be frank about it, I wish I would never retire because I am enjoying what I am doing so much that I don't see why I should be retiring. But I know that there it is time to pass on the "baton" as they say. I'll be wise and bright about it when the time has come the time has come.
Pierre and Marlene visit Josée Morissette
Marlene: The minute I saw her with the big smile, I felt at ease and I felt as though I have known her all my life.
Pierre: Prior to meeting with Josée I don't think that I really thought that I could retire. What we did first was to establish exactly what were my objectives? What was it that I was trying to do?
I soon found out that I was talking with somebody who knew what she was talking about. I didn't, but she did.
Josée Morissette is a person that inspires confidence.
She listened and made it easy for them
Pierre: She really uncomplicated my financial situation. She certainly showed me that I have many options. I didn't have only two or three; perhaps I had a dozen options.
Marlene: She showed him that retirement is not a sad period of your life; it's a happy one.
Pierre: The time has come for me to go on to some other things, to a brand new world, and perhaps contribute in some other way to society.
What is retirement for Pierre Paquin?
Pierre: It would certainly involve leaving myself
to my passions, playing the trumpet, reading, and certainly
lots more writing. And spending a lot more time with
my wife. I’m very much excited, yes!
