Aboriginal Stay in School Program

Join hundreds of students who have taken part in our Canadian Aboriginal Stay in School Program and experience the challenges and rewards of the financial services industry from the other side of the counter. Launched in 1993, this summer program helps Aboriginal students between grade 9 and grade 12 develop the skills and attain the education needed to succeed in the careers of their choice. Is there a better way to earn and learn through the summer months?

You will experience at least three weeks’ specialized training as a Client Service Representative at an RBC branch, followed by one week learning about administrative areas within our branch network. You will emerge with a better understanding of the financial industry and the close relationship between education and employment.

This program is regionally managed based on local recruiting needs. Some branches also conduct interview skills workshops at Aboriginal high schools and Friendship Centres to help you through the recruitment process.

In some areas of Canada, a 4-month program is also available to post-secondary students entering their last or second-last year of school.
