Pursue the challenges of one of these dynamic training programs and begin applying your natural way with people in a key client-facing role. By combining on-the-job training, classroom instruction and mentorship with the chance to learn by observation and example, you will soon be creating win-win opportunities for clients at your RBC branch. You will also master the intricacies of relationship building, portfolio growth and optimizing business opportunities by handling either medium to large commercial accounts or personal client accounts.

Along with an ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, you possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in business or arts. Sales orientation, self motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills (bilingualism could be requested in certain areas) are essential. You’re able to keep up to date on changes in client needs, procedures and products, and possess both previous financial industry/client service experience and success spotting opportunities for new business and referrals.

These 12-month (depending on experience) programs draw on a variety of learning methodologies, and combine on-the-job education with self study, interactive satellite-delivered courses and classroom training. You will spend the first three months in a branch collaborating with a mentor and will complete your remaining months once you’ve been placed in a permanent position. You may be required to obtain your mutual funds, IFC or CSC accreditation by the end of the course.

Client Service Representative Training Program

Our goal in Personal Markets is to help our clients achieve their investment and financial goals through a wide range of financial services, including deposit accounts, investments and mutual funds, credit and debit cards, business and personal loans and residential and commercial mortgages – all supported by sound financial advice.

This is a highly visible, customer service oriented position within RBC branches and communities where we do business. You’ll put clients first by meeting, greeting and getting to know them – processing a variety of financial transactions and staying abreast of their emerging financial needs. You will also respond to customers by offering value-added advice, spotting opportunities and taking personal accountability for the resolution of their concerns. Part of this pivotal role will be to ensure personally that clients receive optimal service at levels that meet their individual financial needs, or to refer them to the appropriate sales individual or to alternate delivery channels.
