An RBC Royal Bank credit card provides a convenient way to shop, gives you easy access to short-term borrowed funds and helps you build a credit history in Canada.

RBC Royal Bank Credit Card: The Benefits for You

An RBC Royal Bank credit card also offers many other benefits and options. RBC Royal Bank credit cards are accepted at more than 20 million locations worldwide. Every RBC Royal Bank credit card comes with protective features, including:

  • Zero Cardholder Liability protects you from fraudulent use if your card is lost or stolen.

  • Purchase Security Insurance** protects any personal property you purchase with your RBC Royal Bank credit card from accidental loss or damage for 90 days of the purchase date.
  • Extended Warranty Insurance** doubles the original manufacturer’s warranty for up to one year on items purchased with your RBC Royal Bank credit card. It starts immediately after the original manufacturer’s warranty has expired.

Rewards Cards

We offer many different types of credit cards, each with different features and benefits. There are cards that offer rewards points, cards with a low-interest rate, card that have no annual fee, cards for students and more.

Many of our cards offer RBC Rewards® points, a system in which you receive points for the purchases you make. These points can later be redeemed for popular items such as:

  • Merchandise including home furnishings, electronics, jewellery, sports equipment and more
  • Gift certificates from top retailers in Canada
  • Travel options including air tickets, vacation packages, car rentals and hotel accommodation.

Tips for Using Credit Wisely

To keep your personal information safe and build a strong credit history, always remember to:

  • Sign the back of your RBC Royal Bank credit card when you receive it.
  • Compare your receipts to your monthly statements and report any discrepancies.
  • Pay at least the minimum balance by the due date specified on your monthly bill. If you can, pay the full amount due in order to avoid any interest charges.
  • Never exceed your credit limit.
  • In a secure place, keep a record of your credit card number, expiry date, the three digits on the back of the card and the 1-800 phone number you will need to call if the card is lost or stolen.
  • Report a lost or stolen card immediately.
