RBC Foundation receives recognition for 20-year support of PM Awards for Teaching Excellence

RBC Foundation was recognized for its 20-year support of the Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence

OTTAWA - May 28, 2019 - On Tuesday, May 28, 2019, RBC Foundation was recognized for its 20-year support of the Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence.  In a ceremony held at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, these national awards were presented to teachers from all across the country for demonstrating a unique approach to education that motivates both young Canadians and fellow teachers to reach their full potential.

“What a privilege to receive this recognition on behalf of the RBC Foundation from the Right Honourable  Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada and the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED),” said Marjolaine Hudon, Regional President for Ontario North and East at RBC.  "These awards recognize exceptional educators who play a key role in helping our youth develop essential skills to prepare them for the future.”

“Congratulations to Canada’s exceptional educators who challenge students to reach higher, work harder and think bigger, while instilling in them a lifelong passion for learning,” said the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development. “Today more than ever, students benefit from digital skills, critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities. Thanks to our teachers, young Canadians are set up to succeed in the jobs of tomorrow.”
