RBC honoured by Women in Capital Markets

TORONTO - December 3, 2018 - RBC Capital Markets was recognized with two awards at this year’s Women in Capital Markets (WCM) Transformational Leadership Awards on Nov. 27 in Toronto.

Jackie Nixon, a Director with Equity Capital Markets, received a Rising Star Award, whichhonours high-performing female professionals whose entrepreneurial spirit, leadership and social responsibility have made a unique contribution to the capital markets industry.

“I’m grateful and humbled to receive the WCM Rising Star award,” Jackie said. “It’s an honor to be recognized, alongside some other fantastic women. Thank you to all of my colleagues, mentors and sponsors who have helped me in my career. I’m very proud to work for such an incredible organization like RBC that fosters an inclusive and supportive environment.”

RBC also won the inaugural Excellence in Innovation Awardfor the collective work of RBC Capital Markets, RBC Global Asset Management and pension fund OMERS in launching theRBC Vision Women’s Leadership MSCI Canada Index ETF (RLDR), the first ETF that focuses on driving board diversity in Canada. The award recognizes those who have taken bold steps to improve diversity and inclusion through an innovative approach.

“Since its launch on International Women’s Day in March, RLDR has been a positive catalyst for change,” said Lindsay Patrick, Global ETF Strategist for RBC Capital Markets, who originally brought the idea for a diversity-focused ETF to management. “To date, RLDR has outperformed major Canadian Equity ETFs, proving that investments in gender diversity do not need to compromise on financial performance.”
Award winners were nominated based on an extensive set of criteria and selected by a jury panel.
