RBC and Board Chair Kathleen Taylor recognized for excellence in corporate governance

November, 2016 - RBC was recently recognized by two industry associations for excellence in corporate governance.

Both RBC and Board Chair Kathleen Taylor were recognized by the Governance Professionals of Canada at the 2016 Excellence in Governance awards. These awards recognize the important contribution governance professionals make towards building and sustaining shareholder and stakeholder value.

Peter Dey Governance Achievement Award
Kathleen Taylor, Board Chair, RBC, received the Peter Dey Governance Achievement Award for outstanding and ongoing achievement in corporate governance. The award recognizes individuals who have significantly and positively impacted the way companies are governed, regulated and communicate with investors.

Best Approach to Achieving Effective Board and Committee Operations
RBC was awarded Best Approach to Achieving Effective Board and Committee Operations. This award was presented in recognition of RBC’s achievements in ensuring board and committee composition, processes and time are effectively managed to maximize governance and strategic oversight.

Best Overall Corporate Governance, International
At Corporate Secretary’s 2016 Excellence in Governance Awards in New York, RBC received the award for Best Overall Corporate Governance, International. RBC was recognized for best overall governance, ethics and compliance program by an international company. This includes board structure, shareholder engagement, regulatory filing, annual reports and sustainability development.
