TORONTO, June 6, 2013 — Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has been named one of Canadas Top 50 Most Socially Responsible Corporations in the June 17, 2013 issue of Macleans magazine. RBC has been included in these rankings, since the lists inception in 2009.
The Top 50 Most Socially Responsible Corporations in Canada were selected on the basis of their performance across a broad range of indicators that were tracked by Sustainalytics, a global provider of environmental, social and governance research and analysis. Sustainalytics explains that each of the companies featured has a significant market capitalization or brand presence in Canada, was assessed using a best-of-sector methodology and appeared on at least one of the following lists: the ROB Top 100, the ROB Top 350, or Interbrands Best Canadian or Best Global Brands lists. The list comprises the top five companies within ten major industry groupings including banking, energy and utilities, and food and beverage. All of the companies on the list have demonstrated strong performance in areas such as environmental initiatives, impact on local communities, treatment of employees and supply chain management.
RBC is honoured by the continued recognition of us its corporate citizenship efforts.
