TORONTO, April 22, 2013 — For the fifth consecutive year, RBC has been named one of Canada's Greenest Employers, according to a competition organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers project. This special designation recognizes employers that lead the nation in making environmental awareness and values part of their organizational culture.
Winners were evaluated on four factors: unique initiatives and programs; reduction of environmental footprint; employee involvement, and the link between the companys green initiatives and its public identity. RBC was recognized for our footprint reduction initiatives, development of exceptional earth-friendly initiatives, environmental leadership, and continuing commitment to water related causes through the RBC Blue Water Project.
"We are honoured to be recognized again this year as one of Canada's Greenest Employers," said Sandra Odendahl, RBC's Director of Corporate Sustainability, RBC. "Our employees play a pivotal role in helping RBC meet our commitments to reducing our environmental footprint, managing environmental and social risk, providing our clients with environmental products and services, and promoting environmental sustainability in our communities."
RBC is recognized among the world's financial, social and environmental leaders and is listed on the 2012-2013 Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the DJSI North American Index. RBC has been named one of Canada's 50 Most Socially Responsible Corporations and one of the Best Workplaces in Canada.
