March 14, 2012 — For the second consecutive year, RBC has been recognized as one of the best places to work for new Canadians. This national competition honours employers that offer innovative programs for new Canadians as well as an inclusive workplace where individual identity, diverse perspectives and ideas are valued and respected.
"At RBC we strive for a workplace where everyone is respected for who they are and what they bring to the table; a place where everyone can achieve their full potential," says Zabeen Hirji, RBC's Chief Human Resources Officer. "We know it's the smart thing to do and right thing, for RBC and for the country's economy. New Canadians are an important part of the Canadian workforce, especially if we ensure they find the work that utilizes their expertise, education and experience. New Canadians also help us better connect with cultural markets. This is an example of how at RBC diversity is integrated into our business strategies and embedded in what we do."
The Best Employers for New Canadians competition is held annually by Mediacorp Canada Inc. as a supplement of Canada's Top 100 Employers, which RBC was also recognized for in 2012.
