TORONTO, June 22, 2010 - Today, RBC was named as one of the "Best 50 Corporate Citizens" in Canada, based on an evaluation of the environmental, social and governance performance of Canada's leading companies by Corporate Knights magazine.
This ranking, based on publicly available information, scores companies across a variety of indicators, including taxes paid, pension fund health, board diversity and independence, and executive compensation. In addition, financial services companies were rated on the proportion of sustainable assets under management. These sector-specific key performance indicators acknowledge that companies can use their core competencies to better society.
This honour adds to an impressive suite of recognition garnered by RBC for programs and performance related to sustainability and corporate responsibility.
