September 3, 2009 — For the tenth consecutive year,
RBC has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index,
an annual review that recognizes the world's financial, social
and environmental corporate leaders. RBC was also named to
the DJSI North America Index.
These indices list leading companies that create long-term shareholder value by taking on opportunities and managing risks stemming from economic, environmental and social developments. They track the financial performance of leading sustainability-driven companies. The annual review influences the investment decisions of asset managers who use the DJSI family as objective benchmarks for sustainability portfolios.
RBC congratulates the other Canadian companies that are included on the 2010 indices.
In 2009, RBC was named one of the world's top 100 sustainable companies, one of Canada's Greenest Employers, one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers, one of Canada's 50 Most Socially Responsible Corporations and one of the Best Workplaces in Canada. RBC is also listed on the Jantzi Social Index and the FTSE4Good Index.
